It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

We have been busy lately, with the usual things that keep us busy this time of year...plus some colds.

Avery had her first dance recital at the mall. I would put the video here, but Blogger is being stupid again and doesn't like it, for some reason. Sum up: Avery freaked out because of all the people and shut down, spent most of the performance at the side of the stage, crying with me, and I got her to go back out, but her teacher pretty much carried her around and then she finally danced the last 10 seconds, maybe. It was still really cute, though!

This girl got her hair cut. Before:

 After:

For the first few days after her hair cut, she was constantly running her hands through her hair and commenting on how much she loved it.

We had Thanksgiving at my parents' house. My Grandpa John and Grandma Nancy made the trip up to see us, so it was fun to be with them, too.

Avery turned 3! I can't believe I have a three year old, but it's true. I do. We asked her what she'd like to eat for her birthday dinner and she said, "A cheeseburger." So, we headed to Red Robin.

The day after her birthday, we had a small birthday gathering with all her grandparents that were in attendance: Bompa, Gramma, Grammie, PawPaw, and Great-Grandpa John and Great-Grandma Nancy. She was in heaven all night, as all the attention was focused on her!
 She LOOOOOOOVES to open presents.

Evelyn made sure some attention was focused on her.

Then, this week, I've been slowly getting Christmas decorations put up, Christmas cookies made, and lots of Christmas music listening done. Today, we had a great quiet family day at home. During Evelyn's almost 3 hour nap (I KNOW!!!), we decorated a gingerbread house with Avery. That was a huge hit!

It's only going to get busier these next few weeks! I'm trying to take the time to remember what we are really celebrating, and just enjoy my time with my sweet ones.

I meant to post something about Avery, but I forgot earlier.  Here's a cute, little video from the beginning of December.  She loves to Skype!

Catch-Up Videos

I'm too lazy to blog regularly now.  No, scratch that.  I'm too busy to blog regularly now.  Chasing around a child who is learning to walk is tiring!  Here are a few videos from the past few weeks.

Get Off the Sidewalks...

People have told me that before I know it, Avery will be driving.

They weren't kidding.

Seven Months....

Someone turned SEVEN months old yesterday!
We had a little photo session with a couple of her bears again.

Now, here you get to learn a little something about me.  I don't really have this issue anymore, but I used to be super-sensitive to really soft things.  Like when I'd go shopping, I'd feel the fabric of all the clothes and when I'd feel something like a chenille sweater or mohair, my nose would instantly tingle.  I know, weird, right?

Look who inherited that little idiosyncrasy!
Haha!  I love it.

And, Avery learned a new trick on her seven month birthday!

Sorry about the video being sideways for the middle part.  I was sitting pretty close to her and couldn't move back because I was up against the wall.  I thought turning the camera the long way would get it so you could see her easier, but our camera isn't all fancy like the IPhone or anything and doesn't automatically turn upright.  :)

Four Months Old...

Look who turned four months old yesterday!
Today we went to see Dr. P for her four month well check.  I was a little nervous about her getting her shots again, but it went better than last time and Avery was smiling away within 10 minutes after getting them.

Here are her stats:
Weight:  12 pounds, 11 ounces     29th %
Length:  25.37 inches     87th %
Head Circumference:  15.87 inches     31st %

Dr. P was very happy with her weight gain, even though it seems like she is so little.  She is a little peanut, although she is a long peanut!  She is gaining a steady pound per month, which is right where she should be at, he said.

And....Baby Girl has started sleeping through the night this past week!  I'm talking all the way through the night.  Like, 8:00 pm until 6 or 7:00 am.  And then, she likes to go back to sleep for another hour or two!  The child likes to sleep, thank goodness!  However, she's taking cat naps throughout the day and only once in awhile sleeping for a good couple of hours at a time.  But Dr. P also said that babies don't typically take a couple of long naps during the day until around 6 months, so I'm okay with that.

Watching the Gonzaga vs. Florida State basketball game with Daddy

Baby Girl has discovered that she can be really loud.  I mean extremely noisy!

So, she pretty much yells her head off all the time now.  Not because she's upset.  But just because she can.

It's lovely.

Making her Daddy and Uncle Erik PROUD.

You don't have to tell me how beautiful I look in this picture.

We also tried out a new way to use the wrap: facing out!  She's a big fan and now supervises when I cook, clean, and anything else she can see from her bird's eye view.

Avery likes to sit with Daddy and watch what he does on the computer.  And yell.
I'm not yelling.  I'm expressing my opinion.  Loudly.

Grammy and Paw Paw stopped by to visit before heading to visit Uncle Erik and Aunt Julie.
This little girl has pretty much become an extra part of myself.  She gets mad when I leave her in a room by herself and I mean mad.  Her temper is much like her Daddy's.  haha!  Do you think our next child will be quiet and patient?

Probably not.

Just playing with my sweater

And Little Miss is drooling like crazy.  I think it just adds to her cuteness.  And wetness.
Oh, Mom...stop telling stories!

And here's a video of Avery playing with her monkey.  I moved her hanging toys around and she was very interested in the changes.

Almost Rolling...

On the Way to Rolling Over from Beth Bruce on Vimeo.

We've been out of town for the past week, visiting my grandparents in Tucson.  We had a great time, but are very glad to be back home again.

If I ever get caught up on cleaning up the amount of dog hair that is all over the house from Riley ruling the roost for a week, I'll post some pictures from our fun week and tell you what we did!

Meanwhile, I can't believe how much Avery is changing each day.  Just yesterday, she was showing us that she will be rolling over soon!
