Friends in Florida...

While in Florida, we visited with friends.  Our good family friends, Rick and Colleen came down to Florida for a few days.  They used to be our neighbors when we lived in Omaha, starting when I was 3 years old!  I think it's great to have friends who have known you for so long.  And now, it's so great for them to be able to meet and get to know Avery.

Dad and Stephen, after Stephen beat Dad and Rick at poker and gave his winnings to me!  I'm still deciding what to spend the pot on...

After Rick and Colleen went back to Omaha, we drove about an hour away to visit our old youth pastor and his wife and 19 month old, Jayden.  I hadn't seen Tweit and Jolynn for several years, so it was fun to catch up!
Tweit and their dog, Autumn
Jayden and my Dad - Jayden loves to read books, so here he is, climbing up next to my dad to read a story.

Jayden jumping on Dad - this looked painful (for my dad), but he's a tough guy, so Jayden had fun!

Thank you so much for having us over, guys!  We had a lot of fun with you.  Isn't Jayden adorable?

Avery's First Boat Ride...

We were in Florida last week, visiting my grandparents.  We had a great time!  And Avery went on her first boat ride.  Do you think she enjoyed herself?
I think so.

Becoming Friends...

Avery:  Hey look!  It's Riley Dogg!
Riley:  Hey, it's Avery's hand!  (Lick, lick)

Avery:  I'm going to close my eyes so my eyeballs don't get licked, k?
Riley:  You do what you gotta do, big A.  I'm just going to lick you.

Riley:  Avery, I gotta say that you taste delicious.
Avery:  Oh, Riley...that tickles!!!

Avery:  I can't see your tongue, but I can hear it!
Riley:  Lick, lick, lick, lick, lick, lick, lick.

Avery:  Is it safe to look?
Riley:  Lick, lick, lick, lick, lick, lick, lick.

Avery:  Are you done yet, Riles?
Riley:  Don't count on it.

Avery:  I just want to touch your ear, Riley Dogg.  So, don't lick me, k?
Riley:  Hi, Dad.  I'm a good girl, right?

Avery:  Riley!
Riley:  Avery, the sooner you learn that my tongue is out of my control, the better.

Avery:  Um, Riley?
Riley:  Must. Not. Lick.

Avery:  I really like you, Riley.
Riley:  I can't hear you, Avery.  I'm just going to sit here like a good girl.

Avery:  Hahaha!  I told you that tickles!
Riley:  I know.  And I told you that I can't help but just lick you over and over again!

Avery:  Can't you just let me touch you without licking me with your smelly tongue?

Riley:  Doubtful, Avery.  And just to make my point, I'm going to get you on your face!

Riley:  My tongue (lick, lick) is out (lick, lick) of control!  (lick, lick)
Avery:  Yikes.

Avery:  Well, okay.  I still like you, Riley.
Riley:  I'm starting to like you, Avery.  You are so very tasty.

Avery:  Oh boy, that's a big one, Riley!
Riley:  Sluuuurrrrrpppp!

Avery:  I love you, Riley Dogg.
Riley:  I love you, too, Avery Baby.  Yummmmmmyyy!

Hello Lion...

Avery no longer grunts and groans and fusses when you put her on her tummy.  She is actually starting to like it!  And she's holding her head up so high and resting on her elbows, pushing up on her hands.
The other day, I was sitting with her while she had tummy time and she pushed up on her hands so high that she pushed herself over and rolled over onto her back!  Yep - that one made it onto her little calendar.
